SCARED SHITLESS

For the first time in years, I find myself completely frightened out of my wits and living in abject terror of what the future holds. To be sure, some of this is based on a rational evaluation of the circumstances, but a large part of it is just that twisted realm of my psyche that secretly gets off on everything turing to shit. Regardless, I've reached a time in my life when I must "act like a man," as Don Corleone once yelled to Johnny Fontaine. It's been so long since I've had to do anything like that, I fear I may be woefully out of practice. Much the like the body, the will atrophies if not exercised at least on a semi-regular basis. I do look forward to the sensation, though.

THE LOYAL OPPOSITION

Give me a fucking break. Republicans are challenging media darling Obama with a collection of Jesus freaks and candy asses. Are they TRYING to lose? I might just have to sit out Election 2012.

EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY

I realize I haven't updated this blog in a while, so I apologize to the three of you reading it. I promise I will post something meaty and substantive in the very near future. That being said, I am tres excited about Explosions in the Sky's new album Take Care, Take Care, Take Care, which has just recently been released. If it's anything like their past efforts, it promises to be an ethereal adventure into the warmest and most charitable corners of the human soul. Their work is a testament to the power of music, and the idea that you don't need lyrics to communicate the divine to listening ears. Please check them out if you haven't yet done so.

MELLOW TRANQUILITY

Then as it was, then again it will be
An' though the course may change sometimes
Rivers always reach the sea
Flyin' skys of fortune, each have separate ways
On the wings of maybe, downy birds of prey
Kind of makes me feel sometimes, didn't have to go
But as the eagle leaves the nest, it's got so far to go

Changes fill my time, baby, that's alright with me
In the midst I think of you, and how it used to be

Did you ever really need somebody, And really need 'em bad
Did you ever really want somebody, The best love you ever had
Do you ever remember me, baby, did it feel so good
'Cause it was just the first time, And you knew you would

Do your eyes not sparkle, Senses growing keen
Tastin' love along the way, See your feathers preen
Kind of makes makes me feel sometimes, Didn't have to go
We are eagles of one nest, The nest is in our soul

Fixin' in my dreams with great surprise to me
Never thought I'd see your face the way it used to be
Oh darlin', oh darlin'

I'm never gonna leave you. I never gonna leave
Holdin' on, ten years gone
Ten years gone, holdin' on, ten years gone

MCCARTHY'S PROGENY

If you are one of the many people who have been lying awake at night wondering what my thoughts were on the current WikiLeaks debacle, fret no more. Iconoclastic writer Jim Goad pretty much spells out my position quite nicely in this article. It's worth reading for the paragraphs on race alone.

MEGYN KELLY

I am interested in working towards a situation where I am spending the rest of eternity as this woman's personal slut slave. She can ride me around like a pet pig. She can beat me mercilessly. Her friends can point and laugh. Yes. This would make me very happy. See that pair of shoes? I would be that pair of shoes. See that chair? I would be that chair. There would be no need for her to own a toilet. Why? Because I would be there. Groveling. Crawling. Worshipping. Right-Wing Goddess Forever.
